One of my projects addresses a growing issue that, in my opinion, doesn’t get nearly enough attention: the misuse of AI-generated images and its impact on identity and privacy.

In my poster, you see a faceless girl surrounded by floating phones. On the screens are ‘nude photos’ of her, but none of them are real. They were generated using AI. The images seem to be flying around uncontrollably, symbolizing how quickly and widely such content spreads online. Her face has been stolen, and her identity is being misused, without her consent, without her control.

The concept was inspired by a real article I came across about a girl who experienced this exact situation. It shocked me how little awareness there is around this topic, even though it’s happening more and more. With this work, I wanted to confront viewers with the dangers of AI and spark reflection on how technology can be used to harm as well as to help.
I created this work based on a statement I formulated myself: ‘AI invites men to steal women’s faces in order to create a pornographic and unrealistic image of them, which gives women a powerless feeling.’
This statement led me to different concepts, and I worked one of them out in detail.
Above you can see some rough sketches I made. The poster was drawn by hand, then scanned in high resolution and digitally traced and colored.
AI AI AI - Student challenge

I created this piece as part of the AI AI AI student challenge, organized by Graphic Matters. My poster was selected and exhibited in the 3sec Gallery at the Chassé Theater in Breda. At first, I didn’t have much confidence in my work, but this experience made me realize it has potential, and that it’s always worth putting your ideas out into the world
